Moving Into Balance
Strength is only one part of balance
Balance is more than strength. Its movement that’s controlled by our senses that allows us to utilize our strength for stable movement through whatever environment we happen to be in.

What Research Says
-
Studies on fall prevention consistently demonstrate that training programs that challenge visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive systems together significantly improve balance and reduce fall risk in older adults.
-
For example, researchers have found that improving proprioception — the body’s internal sense of position — enhances stability and movement control during walking and daily activities.
-
Other studies show that vestibular and sensory integration training improves postural stability, particularly when people are exposed to small challenges like head movement, changes in visual input, or uneven surfaces.
-
In other words, balance improves not only when muscles get stronger, but when the brain becomes more confident, interpreting sensory information from the body and environment.
Join me for a fun hour of actively implementing strategies that incorporate your senses through movement to improve your balance. The workshop is free for Unity Church members. Limited to 15 participants. So, sign up today via the signup sheet here at the church, by contacting me by email/phone or clicking on the link below.
